The All Stars feature St. Paul Peterson on bass and vocals, Kirk Johnson on drums, Jellybean Johnson on guitar, David Eiland on sax and guitar and Jason Peterson DeLaire on keys and vocals. After a long year off, Blues on the Chippewa is back on August 6 & 7, with a lineup that will give everyone a reason to hit the ‘dance floor’ at Durand’s Memorial Park. On the Bauer Built Main Stage lineup this year: As always, Blues on the Chippewa is an event that is FREE to attend. We ask that you consider making a donation throughout the weekend as part of our mission is to help those who help others in the area. In the past, we’ve supported the Durand Area Food Pantry, Brent Titus Music For Children Program, Pepin County Humane Society, seniors citizens programs, Durand Women’s Club ‘Fill a Backpack Program’, and the Pepin County Historical Society to name a few.

Sinbad and St. Paul join forces to form "Funkedy," where FUNK meets COMEDY. Ranked by Comedy Central as one of the “100 Greatest Standups of All-Time,” actor and comedian Sinbad has had audiences laughing for over three decades. Sinbad has recently appeared on Comedy Bang Bang, The Eric Andre Show, and FX Television series It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Sinbad produced and starred in his own WE TV’s reality show, SINBAD: It’s Just family.

St. Paul Peterson performed keys with The Time in Purple Rain before signing to Prince’s Paisley Park label as lead singer of The Family, is acknowledged as one of the best musicians to emerge from the Twin Cities.

Players who wrote, produced, performed or sung on some of the biggest hits from the era – from “Funkytown” to “Little Red Corvette,” “Black Cat” to “Nothing Compares 2 U” – St Paul and The Minneapolis Funk All-Stars are the architects of an electro funk-rock sound that brought together people of all colors and backgrounds; a style whose influence continues to ripple throughout pop music to this day with artists such as Questlove and The Roots, D’Angelo, Bruno Mars, Dam-Funk and many more.

After tearing the roof off Bird’s Basement out front of fDeluxe in October last year St Paul returns with the Minneapolis Funk All-Stars to commemorate the 1 year anniversary of Prince's passing on April 22, 2016.

A member of The Time in the hit movie 'Purple Rain' and lead singer of the first group signed to Prince’s Paisley Park label, St. Paul is one of the finest musicians to have emerged from the Twin Cities. The original singer of the timeless classic 'Nothing Compares 2 U’ St Paul will perform a selection of Minneapolis funk plus cuts from The Family/fDeluxe, The Time, his solo career and more as well with a special tribute to the legendary Prince.

Invited by The New Power Generation to sing at the upcoming Paisley Park Celebration (April 20-23) St Paul has instead opted to return to Melbourne where he was so warmly received last year with fDeluxe. Under the banner of the MPLS funk All-Stars St Paul brings an authentic lineup of artists with deep connections to Prince.

Ricky Peterson (keys/vocals) - co-producer of The Most Beautiful Girl In The world, the song that established Prince as an independent artist, Ricky is acknowledged as one of the finest keyboard players in the world. A former staff producer at Paisley park and currently a member of Stevie Nicks touring band Ricky’s resume is long and impressive. John Mayer, George Benson, David Sanborn, Steve Miller, Annie Lennox, Joe Sample, Chaka Kahn, Fine Young Cannibals, Mavis Staples, Al Jarreau and Larry Graham are just few of the names to which he is a musician and producer.

Mike Scott (guitar): Best known for his work with Prince and Justin Timberlake Mike got his break after moving to Minneapolis and working within the city’s thriving funk scene. In the past 20 years, he’s graced the studio and/or stages alongside the likes of Michael Jackson, Rhianna, Beyonce, Janet Jackson, Mary J Blige, Mariah Carey, Chaka Khan, Patti Labelle, Luther Vandross, New Edition and many many more.
